The premium payable as part of the scheme after registering on the e-Shram portal is only Rs. 12 per annum. The scheme is automatically renewed every year. The minimum age limit for joining the scheme is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 70 years.

38 crore people across the country ..

According to government figures, there are about 38 crore unorganized sector workers across the country. The government aims to make all of them partners in this e-labor scheme. Moreover, it is hoped that the inclusion of unorganized sector workers in the scheme will also create their database. Unorganized sector workers are completely free to register on this e-labor portal. You can register for free through this portal either at any online service center or at the local offices of the state Department of Labor. The government has revealed that any worker working in the unorganized sector is not eligible to join the scheme. It also does not impose any restrictions on the income of the registered person. However, a person who pays other taxes is not eligible for this scheme.
