Megamela in three centers

The JDA said it was introducing new tractors at custom higher centers that lease farm machinery to farmers. In the first week of June, a mega mela will be organized at three selected centers in the district to display all kinds of machinery. Steps will also be taken to make rental tractors available at 208 farmer assurance centers from next kharif. There are two types of insurance.

To further benefit the farmers, the state government is revising the existing Prime Minister's Crop Insurance and Reorganized Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme and implementing it as a 100 per cent state government scheme.

There are two types of insurance, yield based and weather insurance.

According to the General Crop Estimation Survey (GCES) regulations, yield-based crop insurance claims and weather-based insurance claims are settled according to the weather data provided by the state government. The state government has set up the General Insurance Company Corporation to expedite the settlement of claims without relying on insurance companies.

Diagnosis with Crop Trials - Crop damage is estimated based on yields from crop trials and compensation is paid. For crop losses due to untimely rains, storms and hailstorms, for crop damage within 14 days after harvest, i.e. in the field or in small bundles in case of crop damage, the damage is estimated and credited to the farmer's account within 72 hours.

Weather Based Crop Insurance:

The scheme is implemented on the basis of fluctuations in weather factors such as rainfall, temperature, wind and humidity. The zone is implemented as a unit for the identified crops based on the cultivable area in each district. The AP Development‌ Planning‌ Society assesses the damage based on their weather report. Farmers can call 155251 free of cost to clear their doubts. As soon as the harvest trials are completed in January, reports are taken from the planning department in February and in March or April the insurance compensation is paid directly into the bank account linked to the Aadhaar number.
